Shuswap River Float

It’s the ultimate summer activity – kicking back in an inflatable tube, and meandering down a winding river under a blazing hot summer sun.  The Shuswap River Float is a family tradition in this area, and it’s a perfect way to enjoy Mother Nature at her finest. There’s several launch points to pick from, but if you’re new to tubing, or travelling with mini-vagabonds, we recommend Belvidere Park to Tuey Park. You’ll be done in about an hour and a half – with plenty of time to hit the beach. A longer option, if you have about four to five hours to spare, is Eby Hand Launch to Belvidere Park.

The Shuswap River is a salmon spawning ground, so be sure to treat it with the courtesy and respect it deserves, and remember to pack out what you pack in.

Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip

From July 1 to August 31, you will see people at land-launches wearing blue and green "River Ambassador" uniforms; be sure to check in with these friendly folks before you head out to check water conditions and speeds.
