Millionaires’ Row Cider Co.

A newcomer to Bottleneck Drive, Millionaires’ Row Cider Co. has an amazing story to share and a stellar quartet of ciders neatly packaged in a tongue-in-cheek cardboard briefcase. ‘High and Dry’, ‘Hop on Board’, ‘Makin’ a Mint’, and ‘Modern Miracle’ are the product-line produced by this entrepreneurial family with a knack for making darn good cider.

Their orchard is steeped in local lore. Lord Thomas Shaughnessy established the Summerland Development Company and enticed a few of his investment inclined friends to plant fruit orchards in the Prairie Valley dry lands surrounding Summerland. The trees that the ‘High and Dry' cider apples are grown on is a part of his legacy. and the original orchard.

Once the hub of the Okanagan Valley, Summerland boasts a rich, some might say notorious - history captured in the flavour and names of the ciders. ‘Hop on Board’ pays homage to the Canadian Pacific Railway, which Lord Thomas was President of and many of the orchard investors backed, while ‘Making a Mint’ tips it’s bottle to the banks and lending institutions their wealth financed. That brings us to the fruition of the story, pun intended, ‘Modern Miracle’ - the sweet and sassy cider with old-world character.

Ironically, the tasting room is unpretentious and charmingly quirky but don’t confuse it’s understated presentation for simple - these are complex ciders with attitude. We highly recommend checking this upstart out - it is a little hidden gem that’s currently the apple of our eye.  COVID 19 restrictions apply.
