Frequency Winery

One of our favourite places to vagabond is East Kelowna, a quaint swatch of countryside dotted with orchards, wineries, farms and golf courses. Nestled in the crook of Gulley and McCulloch Roads is where you'll find Frequency Wine and Sound. You heard us right, apparently sound has a lot to do with the theory of winemaking at Frequency but we'll let them tell you their story. We'd like to tell you ours, which is about the wines of this kitschy camp-style tasting room with an art deco vibe.

They make really good white wine, and record local musicians whose music tracks can be heard on their Facebook page. There was a recording going on during our tasting and the young singer was excellent. Apparently, several successful talents have already emerged from this little winery, including their Riesling and Zweigelt.

“Storytyme” is the name of the band Tony Lewis, the winery's founder, played in. You can find memorabilia from his stage days on display throughout the building and in the surrounding landscape.

There are two tasting areas separated by the recording studio. Neither is large so it is recommended to book ahead to reserve your spot at the bar which serves white wines with a resident Rosé in the set. COVID 10 protocols in place.
