The Kettle Valley Steam Railway

This is a Vagabond favourite, partly because of its historical importance but mostly for the nostalgia. A ride on the Kettle Valley Steam Train is a whimsical adventure that transports you back to a time when the gold rush was all the rage, outlaws ruled the west and the most common forms of transportation were the steam engine or paddle wheeler. Built in the early 1900’s the KVR “Kootenay to Coast Connection” powered our pioneer fruit industry into world markets, transported hobos (remember our logo) from town to town, and created the lore that will forever define authentic valley living.

A ticket to ride entitles one to see some of the finest orchards and vineyards in the valley while offering up spectacular vistas of Okanagan Lake from the Trout Creek Bridge. Suspending high above the canyon floor, you’ll have breathtaking views of the land and abundance that is the Okanagan we know and love. Check their site for Spring runnings and updated COVID 19 restrictions.

Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip

There are a few rides to choose from, our favourite being the train robbery. Yeeha!
