Kal Beach
On the north shore of Kalamalka Lake, Kal Beach is Vernon’s most popular sandy spot – and for good reason. Lush and clean, with scenic blue-green waters, it’s a hot spot for all ages. The soft sand is perfect for building sandcastles with the little ones but can get quite hot under the Okanagan sun so be sure to bring along some flip flops.
There’s plenty of parking across the street and a lakeside pub serving yummy eats and cold adult drinks off a huge patio. A couple of swimming docks will get you in and out of the water all day, and you’ll see plenty of eye candy with dudes and dudettes who want to show off their beach bods and volleyball skills!
Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip
If you’re feeling adventurous, rent a stand up paddle board from the neighbouring Kalvida Surf Shop and head out into the waters. If you keep to the left of the boat launch, you’ll discover a little waterway leading to another adventure! You’ll have to go through a culvert, sitting on your paddleboard, but it’s well worth the vagabond.
