Vaseux Lake Kayak

If you’re looking to kayak the Okanagan the way Mother Nature intended, this is the lake for you. Vaseux is a beautiful, yet small, lake in the southern Okanagan that is also a protected area for many species. Bird watching is a favourite pastime for boaters and hikers, along with fishing and watching the big horn sheep and antelope look down on the lake.

This lake doesn’t allow motorized boats, which means there are no big wakes to disturb your pristine glides across its sun-drenched waters. This beautiful gem can be viewed from many of the local wineries and offers a spectacular vista for those seeking a simpler, less-travelled experience in the valley. A great place to launch is at the Provincial Park, just off of Route 97.

Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip

Southwest of Vaseux Lake, alongside Route 97, is the McIntyre Bluffs where First Nations People created pictographs that are still visible today.
