Host to some of the most desirable trestles to traverse on the scenic Kettle Valley Railway (KVR), this portion of retired track offers up majestic, photo-op views. Running along a steep-walled canyon overlooking Okanagan Lake and the valley below, it was built by hand at the turn of the last century and features 2 tunnels and 18 trestle bridges that are sought after trails for joggers, walkers and bike enthusiasts. Myra Canyon Bike Rentals will provide you with a great ride and helmet for the trek if you didn’t bring your own, and we suggest you pack a picnic as it takes about three hours to get through.

This spectacular trek is considered entry level and totally suitable for the whole family – even those who haven’t ridden for a few years. Visit their website for directions and save yourself the cost of the guided tour – unless you want a guide to pace your crew and point out landmarks.

Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip

In 2003 many of the Myra Canyon trestles were destroyed by fires but have since been replaced with excellent sections of flat, easy to navigate trestle making this stretch of track suitable for winter and summer sports including snowshoeing and cross country skiing.
