Off the beaten path on Ellis, Central is a lively little neighbourhood pub reminiscent of local gathering spots like those showcased on sitcoms the likes of "Cheers". Equipped with it's own built-in sports facility, this hidden gem has a first-class team hitting culinary home-runs every outing.  Preparing amazing fresh fare and delicious handcrafted bevies in a casual drop-in atmosphere is what Central fans appreciate most about this unpretentious contender.

The tiny bar restaurant and adjoining patio have recently been renovated to increase capacity but it is really, really popular so expect to be put on a waiting list.

Serving modern twists on local pub fare Central is well-known for it's handcrafted burgers, well-portioned salads, and flavourful flatbreads. On our most recent visit I enjoyed their quinoa salad which featured a creamy aioli dressing with just enough Cajun heat to spice up my taste buds. Topped with ahi tuna and chased with a gin infused ruby grapefruit cocktail - it was simply sensational. There were plenty of food and beverage options including gluten-free plates on their well-appointed menu. The portions are fair, the service is always fabulous and the price is easy on the wallet. If you are a fan of authentic caesar salads the Central Caesar features anchovies, freshly grated parmesan and garlic which make it a Vagbond favourite as a side, or stand alone dish.
