You’ll find Savard Vines seven kilometers north of Summerland on one of the most scenic stretches of Route 97. This quaint newcomer is a fresh introduction to the valley wine scene producing small-lot offerings. All of the winery grapes are grown on ten sundrenched acres overlooking Okanagan Lake. This roadside gem is memorable for its amazing vistas, fresh and perky wines and tenacious charm.
A family affair, the land is farmed by Lori and Michael Savard, health care practitioners from Alberta. What started with Michael doctoring garlic, soon grew to the planting of a vineyard that originally produced grapes for Tinhorn Creek and Road 13, but lucky for us the Savard’s are overachievers who decided to learn to make great wine. With Michael tasked to build the tasting room, and winding road to the winery, Lori set out to acquire her Sommelier designation before becoming an accredited wine-maker.
