The Market and Downtown Summerland

The Summerland Farmers Market is a quaint little affair much smaller than the neighbouring Penticton soiree. Held in the historic downtown district, it requires that vendor offerings be locally sourced, made or grown, which is true to the intent of authentic farmers markets, but that’s not to say local downtown businesses can’t join in the fun. From coffee shops to thrift shops, everyone participates in the local market, which heralds farmers, wineries and artists from the area while offering local stores the opportunity to showcase their wares.

From fresh baked goods to freshly harvested cherries, the market is a culinary tribute to the bountiful harvests of the land and is set up much the same as you would have imagined it in the early days. You’ll also find crafters and gardeners promoting their wares alongside wineries serving up some of the sassiest varietals this side of the Bench.

Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip

This little gem is very local and sells out early in the day so we suggest a morning visit especially if you’re looking for baked goodies.
