Mission Creek Park and Greenway
One of our favorite places to vagabond is Mission Creek Park and Greenway, a picturesque park that keeps getting bigger and better thanks to the Friends of Mission Creek. The park occupies a gently sloping swatch of land that stretches from the shores of Okanagan Lake to the rolling foothills of the Monashee Mountains. Some of the best walking, hiking, biking and snowshoeing in the valley happens in this family friendly, 26km stretch of land that boasts an educational centre, salmon spawning channel, grassy picnic areas, and a great playground for the kids.
There’s lots of shade throughout the park especially along the creek banks which can be followed to the turtle pond, a short hike upstream.
Valley Vagabonds Inside TipThis is the perfect picnic stop for the whole family and the launch point for several DIY Day Trips for Kelowna.
