Xchange Tapas Bar and Lounge

The best way to enjoy a medley of seasonal tastes is by sharing a lunch of small bites and tapas, especially if they're farm to table fresh.  We'll go to great lengths to find them. Fortunately, we didn't have to vagabond far off the beaten path to enjoy some inspired offerings right here - in Kelowna.

Nestled amongst a decidedly inspired group of boutique businesses, Xchange Tapas and Lounge is serving up Spanish style small bites, luscious entrees and shared plates that taste as good as they look - which is sensational.

We were treated to a Chef Tasting of their new menu prepared by the talented Chef Graydon Gliege. Our culinary adventure started with a prosciutto-inspired amuse-bouche that was beautifully crafted. This sampling set the stage for a freshly tossed bruschetta prepared tableside.  The bruschetta had just the right amount of herbs and oils to balance the saltiness of the anchovies and sweetness of the tomatoes.

The serving was large, so we had to pace ourselves to save room for the ahi tuna tartare. Chef outdid himself with this dish and we savoured every mouthful. The crème de le résistance, a decadent ice-cream dessert drizzled with sweet reductions was as chocolatey as chocolate can be - the perfect punctuation to a fabulous meal.

If you're not a fan of tapas, there is a full entrée lunch and dinner menu full of tempting dishes.

We could go on for volumes about the ambiance, hospitality and flavours of Xchange. We could chat up the aromas, presentation and smiles on the faces of their customers, or we could just give you our best advice and tell you to check it out for yourself. You won't be disappointed.

Valley Vagabonds Inside Tip

This local tapas lounge looks as good as it tastes. The design is westcoast industrial, offering an open-seated concept that is modern - in a traditional way. Supporters of local suppliers, Xchange is keeping it real in the heart of the Okanagan.
